How to Make an Animated Instagram Post Using Shutterstock Create
In this simple three-step tutorial you’ll learn how to create a quick animated Instagram post to share a summer sales event message with your followers. The design can be easily adapted for other messages, such as summer parties, festivals or vacation-themed designs.
We’ll look at how easy it is to apply instant animation effects using online app Shutterstock Create. The app is free to use, so what are you waiting for?
In just three steps, you’ll have a high-resolution GIF or video version of the Instagram Story design for sharing online. All you need is your freebie clip art bundle to hand. Let’s get started!
It’s easy to create an animated Instagram post for social marketing campaigns using Shutterstock Create.
Step 1
Go to Shutterstock Create and choose Instagram Post from the blank canvas options.
First, let’s begin by placing one of the picture borders from our free bundle onto the canvas. Go to Graphics > Add your own graphic > Computer. Choose one of the border images from the folder of PNG images in your downloaded bundle.
Once you’ve placed the frame centrally onto the canvas, we can create more contrast by adjusting the background color of the post. Click on Change color at the top of the workspace and choose a dark color from the options, such as black or dark brown.
You can now add more clip art onto your design. Let’s place a couple of hummingbirds onto the top of the design, as shown below.
As before, go to Graphics > Add your own graphic > Computer.
Navigate to the folder of PNG images in your free download, and select the two hummingbird images to upload and place.
Step 2
We can now add animation to the hummingbirds to make them appear as if they are hovering over the flowers. Select both of the birds and click on Animate in the top controls panel. Choose Float from the Looping options, and Mix. You can click on the play icon at the bottom of the workspace to preview the effect.
Step 3
Let’s add a text message to the design. Click on Text > Add heading, and place the heading centrally on the design. Click on Text color at the top to adjust the color to one of the Photo Colors available, such as this jungle green hue.
Click on the font name to open the Font menu, adjusting the font of the type to URW Futura.
Increase the size of the main part of the message, and click on Text Spacing to decrease the Line height, pulling the words closer together.
Step 3
Return to Graphics > Add your own graphic > Computer, and choose the jungle leaf from the PNG folder, placing this at the bottom of the post design. If we Animate this with a Vertical Float effect, this will act as an arrow pointing viewers’ attention towards the sale message.
When you’ve finished working on your post design, click on the red Download button at top-right. Choose an MP4 video format for sharing on social media, or a GIF format for email and WhatsApp.
Super simple! Now all you need to do is upload the design to your social media account. Great job!
